MOVE, PLAY & EXPLORE
Sport & fitness in Sotogrande: find a class, book a court, get out on the water or build a routine that fits life here.
This guide brings together gyms, coaches, studios and sports facilities in Sotogrande, Pueblo Nuevo, Guadiaro and nearby San Roque. Whether you live locally or are here for a short stay, start with the activity you enjoy and check the booking details with the venue.
Find your starting point
Here on holiday? Ask for a single court booking, private lesson or short-term pass. Living locally? Compare the full weekly timetable and travel time before choosing a membership. Booking for children? Give their age, experience and preferred language from the outset.
Club and council information checked on 13 October 2026. Links below identify the source for each entry. Prices, timetables and availability must be confirmed when you book.
Gyms & personal training
Choose between independent exercise and a coached session. Before committing, check the weekly timetable, membership terms and whether a trial or single visit is available.
Feathers Fitness
Plaza Blanca, units 36–38
A coaching-led option for strength and conditioning, with group sessions and personal training. Its own website lists the club in Plaza Blanca. This is a useful starting point if you want a structured programme and someone to guide your training.
Before booking: Ask about introductory sessions, class levels and short-stay options.
SO/ Sotogrande Fitness Club
SO/ Sotogrande resort
The resort lists indoor and outdoor training areas, cardio and strength equipment, group classes and personal trainers. It also advertises yoga and Pilates. Its Fitness Club is for over-16s; check the exact age policy when booking.
Before booking: Confirm access for non-residents, what your pass includes and whether classes require a separate reservation.
Pilates, yoga & movement
A regular class can be an easy way to build a local routine. Match the format and pace to your experience, and ask about class size and language before booking.
Gym Tonic Sotopilates
Edificio Laxmor, first floor, N-340 service road
Olga Sotomayor’s studio advertises private and group Pilates classes. Its website lists parking and a lift, making those practical details easy to check before your first visit.
Before booking: Explain whether you want mat or equipment-based Pilates, your experience and your preferred class language.
ORIGEN Yoga Studio
Galerías Paniagua, local 6
A dedicated studio offering yoga, functional mobility and mindfulness-based classes. Its published programme distinguishes slower sessions from more dynamic work, so discuss which class fits your experience.
Before booking: Book ahead; the studio lists reception by appointment or before group classes.
Yoga at the sailing school
Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande sailing-school facilities
Puerto Sotogrande announced a programme with Elena Medina’s Club de Salud on 8 October 2026. The announcement describes English sessions on Mondays, Spanish sessions on Tuesdays and personalised sessions and meditation on Wednesdays.
Before booking: Confirm the current timetable, meeting point and indoor or outdoor arrangements before attending.
Tennis, padel & pickleball
Book a court for your own group or enquire about coaching. Court hire, lessons and social sessions are different products; make clear which one you want.
Sotogrande Racket Center
Sotogrande Costa · Paseo del Parque area
The club’s current website lists tennis, padel and pickleball, together with coaching, junior schools and seasonal camps. It provides an online booking route for courts and classes.
Before booking: Check the exact court location and availability in the club’s booking system. Pickleball equipment and session formats should be confirmed directly.
La Reserva Club Racquet Centre
La Reserva · Sotogrande Alto
La Reserva advertises five padel courts and four tennis courts, split between clay and hard surfaces. Its programme includes adult and junior coaching, and equipment hire is listed.
Before booking: Specify tennis or padel, your level and whether you need a coach or equipment. Confirm the booked venue, rather than relying on the similar local club names.
El Octógono Tennis & Padel
Paseo del Río · near the port
The tennis club lists six tennis courts, including clay and hard surfaces, and five padel courts. Individual and group tennis lessons, a sports shop and changing rooms are advertised.
Before booking: Use the tennis and padel contact below for court enquiries; access to the nearby beach club is a separate matter.
Sailing, watersports & swimming
The marina is the starting point for sailing-school enquiries. For swimming, distinguish a coached water activity, a leisure pool and a pool session intended for exercise.
Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande
Avenida de la Marina · Sotogrande port
The sailing school lists Optimist, catamaran and wingfoil activities, summer camps and a low-season programme. Ask the school to match the boat or session to your experience, age and swimming ability.
Before booking: Confirm the meeting point, equipment, supervision and weather-cancellation policy. A club visit and a sailing lesson are different bookings.
San Roque municipal indoor pool
Calle La Ermita · San Roque town
For an indoor swimming enquiry, the council lists the municipal pool in San Roque town. This is outside Sotogrande. A September 2026 council notice also confirms swimming-club activity at the facility.
Before booking: Ask the pool about public swimming, lessons, lane sessions, registration and current opening times.
Horse riding & equestrian facilities
Tell the centre whether you want a first lesson, regular training or information about an event. Location and visitor access should be confirmed before driving out.
Santa María Equestrian Club
Puente de Hierro · San Enrique area
An equestrian facility with arenas, stables and an event programme. Its official contact page identifies Puente de Hierro as the location.
Before booking: Describe whether you want instruction, livery, competition information or a spectator visit. Do not assume a general enquiry includes a beginner ride or pony session.
Club Hípico Sotogrande
Antiguo Cortijo Valderrama · Sotogrande Alto
San Roque’s tourism directory lists this riding club and the contact below. Our older profile contains additional background, but lesson formats and visitor activities need confirming with the operator.
Before booking: Ask about beginner lessons, children’s minimum ages, helmets and any riding experience needed. The contact here follows the council tourism listing.
Local sports & family activities
Community facilities are worth checking alongside private clubs. Ask for the current school-year programme and the contact for the activity itself.
Complejo Deportivo Zona Norte
Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro
The council lists an indoor sports hall, activity rooms, padel courts and a rugby field at this complex. Its directory includes activities such as basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, taekwondo, futsal and Pilates.
Before booking: The directory is not a live timetable: ask which activities are currently running, who organises them and how to enrol.
For holiday ideas beyond regular sports classes, explore our things to do in Sotogrande. For school-related activities, use the schools guide and confirm whether enrolment is restricted to pupils.
Walking, running & cycling
Keep it local
A walk around the marina or a coastal outing can fit around a busy day. Use our beach guide to choose an area, and plan a route that suits the surface, weather and time you have.
For running, check crossings, lighting and the continuity of footpaths. The estate’s roads carry traffic; wide streets do not automatically mean a protected running or cycling route.
Pinar del Rey & San Roque
For a woodland outing, look at Pinar del Rey near San Roque. The council documents a walking and cycling connection from San Roque town and recognised walking trails within the woodland.
Check access notices and trail conditions before setting out. Choose a route suited to your group and avoid entering golf courses or private land as a shortcut.

Your sport & fitness questions answered
Can visitors book sports activities in Sotogrande?
Several operators publish court-booking or lesson-enquiry options. Access terms vary: ask about a single session, a short stay or a trial before choosing a membership. A hotel gym or private club should never be treated as automatically open to everyone.
Where should I start if I want a gym?
Compare Feathers Fitness for coached strength sessions with SO/ Sotogrande for a resort fitness setting. Ask whether your intended visit is an independent workout, a group class or personal training, because the booking and price may differ.
Can I book a personal trainer?
Feathers Fitness and SO/ Sotogrande both advertise personal training. Discuss your goals, experience, schedule and any limitations with the trainer. Ask what the quoted price includes and whether you need separate access to the facility.
Where can I do Pilates?
Gym Tonic Sotopilates publishes private and group classes. SO/ also lists Pilates among its group activities. Check the particular class format: a mat class, an equipment session and a private appointment are not interchangeable.
Is there yoga in English?
The sailing-school programme announced by Puerto Sotogrande on 8 October 2026 includes English sessions on Mondays. Confirm the current arrangements with the organiser. For other studios, ask about the language of the specific class you plan to attend.
Which yoga class is suitable for a beginner?
Ask the teacher about pace, floor work, balance demands and whether the class welcomes first-timers. ORIGEN describes several different formats, including more dynamic classes. Choose with the instructor rather than assuming every session has the same level.
Where can I play tennis or padel?
The options above include Sotogrande Racket Center, La Reserva Club Racquet Centre and El Octógono. Check the exact location when booking: similar names can make it easy to head to the wrong venue.
Is pickleball available?
Sotogrande Racket Center lists pickleball on its current website. Ask about court bookings, introductory sessions, equipment and whether you need to organise your own partners.
Can I hire a racket?
La Reserva’s published information includes equipment hire. At any club, reserve what you need when making the booking and check whether balls, rackets and court lighting are included or charged separately.
Can I join a game without knowing other players?
Ask the club about coached groups, social sessions or help finding players of a similar level. A court reservation on its own does not necessarily include opponents or a coach.
Are there tennis or padel lessons for children?
Sotogrande Racket Center and La Reserva advertise junior programmes. Confirm current age bands, language, assessment requirements and whether a place is available for a visitor or only for a term booking.
Where can children learn to sail?
The RCMS sailing school lists Optimist sailing and programmes for younger participants. Ask directly about minimum age, swimming requirements, supervision and the next suitable course; these should not be inferred from the type of boat.
Are watersports available outside summer?
RCMS publishes a low-season activities section, but that does not mean every sport runs every day. Ask for dates and a weather-dependent booking. Older summer listings should not be used as evidence of winter availability.
Can I try wingfoil?
Wingfoil appears in the RCMS sailing-school offer. Describe your previous experience and ask which introductory session, equipment and conditions are suitable. Confirm what happens if wind or sea conditions prevent the lesson.
Where can I swim indoors?
The municipal indoor pool listed here is in San Roque town, not Guadiaro or Sotogrande. Contact it for current public-swimming sessions and lessons. Resort spa pools have their own access terms and may not suit lane training.
Can I use a hotel pool or gym without staying there?
Ask the hotel about its current non-resident pass or membership. Confirm the precise facilities included, age restrictions, class access and any maintenance closures. A spa reservation need not include unrestricted gym or swimming access.
Can complete beginners go horse riding?
Speak to the riding centre before booking and state that you are a beginner. Ask whether it currently offers a suitable supervised lesson. Do not choose a trail ride solely from an old listing or assume all horses and outings suit first-time riders.
Are pony rides available for small children?
Ask the operator about current availability, minimum age, supervision and helmets. A club with stables or equestrian competitions does not necessarily run casual pony rides.
Where can I find activities in Pueblo Nuevo or Guadiaro?
Start with Zona Norte’s council contact. Ask for the current programme and the organiser of your chosen sport. Our neighbourhood guide helps place the surrounding communities in context.
Are there football or rugby facilities?
La Reserva advertises a pitch for five-a-side football, while the council lists a rugby field at Zona Norte. Pitch access, coaching and joining a team are separate enquiries; confirm the organiser and booking requirements.
Where can I walk or run without a membership?
For an easy outing, plan around the marina or the coastal areas covered in our beach guide. For a woodland walk, consider Pinar del Rey near San Roque. Check local access and conditions, and avoid treating private golf courses as public walking routes.
Where can I go cycling?
The council documents a cycling and walking link between San Roque town and Pinar del Rey. For a longer ride, check a current route, road surfaces and traffic conditions. Sotogrande’s roads are shared with vehicles and should not be presented as a protected cycle network.
What can we do on a rainy or windy day?
Look for an indoor class, a gym session or an available indoor-pool session. Confirm the venue first: some programmes use outdoor space. For a broader family plan, see our things-to-do guide.
What should I check before booking a holiday camp?
Ask for the actual dates, age group, daily hours, language, supervision, collection arrangements and what is included. Check cancellation terms and whether food or transport costs extra. An operator advertising camps does not confirm places for your travel dates.
How much do local sports activities cost?
Prices depend on membership, coaching, equipment, season and session length. Request a total for your specific booking, including any joining fee or facility access. We avoid presenting old promotional prices as current tariffs.
Can I add my club, studio or coaching business to this guide?
Yes. Send us your details, including location, services, public telephone or WhatsApp, booking information and an official website or profile. For photographs, please confirm permission for us to publish them.
